As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 18 years of community mental health experience, I have had the honor of being invited into the lives and struggles of individuals and families. I have been able to integrate solution focused cognitive therapy and psychodynamic client-centered approaches to help clients navigate issues ranging from depression, anxiety, stress, emotional and physical abuse, issues from family of origin, relationship issues that often involve intimacy and communication that are either a result of early life trauma or occurring later in life.

I work with clients from about 9 years old to elderhood. I have been working with middle school and high school students as a clinician since 2005.

I specialize in working with Anger Mangement issues, emotional regulation, behavioral issues, school avoidance, educational motivation, peer pressure, social anxiety, mean girl drama, school bullying, suicidal ideation, self-empowerment, boosting self-image, creating and achieving goals, learning to love oneself, appreciating positivity in life, intergenerational trauma, navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, veterans, and working with domestic violence perpetrators in helping to retrain their behaviors and reactions so that they can become healthier partners, parents, and community members in the future.

I offer a holistic approach to therapy drawing on EMDR, Relational-Cultural Therapy, somatic therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Organic Intelligence, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths Based, Mindfulness, guided meditation, body positive, Emotionally Focused Therapy and yoga for mental health.

Identifying unprocessed trauma is crucial in treating common to severe mental health issues. Trauma runs on a spectrum from minor to major events and is only relevant to the person who experienced it. What may be disturbing to one individual may not be to the next and vice versa. Trauma can be contagious and impact those around us. Everyone experiences adversity in their lifetime; while there are much wonderful evidence-based methods I will use for recovery I find EMDR to be effective with significantly faster results while being the least invasive.

I have practiced with individuals in their schools, homes, through community mental health agencies, group settings, juvenile detention centers, homeless shelters, online and through private practice. My assessment, case management and treatment planning/implementation skills will help you get the most out of each session.

In 2005 I received a master's in social work from the University of Washington focusing on mental health and indigenous mental health.
